Some rough news came today from Buffalo, as it has been reported that former OU linebacker Eric Striker has been cut by the Buffalo Bills.

This is definitely a bummer, but probably should’ve been expected. It’s hard enough for an undrafted free agent to cut the roster, and he’s apparently been struggling with NFL offensive tackles. Striker is quick and ferocious, but he just doesn’t have the size to garner enough respect at the highest level.
Hopefully Striker gets picked up by a practice squad and is able to continue pursuing his dream. If not, something tells me that he’ll still manage to be successful in life. He’s a smart guy with a big personality, so I’m sure he’ll be fine. I would definitely love to see him become a grad assistant at OU in the near future if pro ball doesn’t work out. He’d be a hell of a recruiter, and he’d definitely bring the best out of his players.
Striker is probably my favorite Sooner of the last decade, and it’s largely for plays such as this:
He’ll also be remembered for his larger-than-life personality and sound bytes such as this:
