We’re now just 18 days away from the season opener, which means that today is Jason White Day!
I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that White is the most under-appreciated Heisman winner in recent memory, and I understand why. He didn’t have the ability to run around and improvise after two knee surgeries, he wasn’t known as a vocal guy with a big personality, and he went undrafted and never played a down in the NFL. But my word, that dude threw one of the prettiest deep balls ever.
To demonstrate the lack of appreciation for White, YouTube only has one comprehensive highlight video for him. The background track is Nickelback, so I’ll spare you the video. I did, however, find some good individual highlights, including this one.
Watching this highlight makes me so happy at this point. In August of 2016, my hatred of Texas A&M is getting close to that of Texas. That’s not something I would’ve said in 2010, but their fan base has become insufferable.
On an unrelated note, I have to acknowledge that I kind of dropped the ball with yesterday’s edition. It was nice to remember Michael Thompson, but I completely forgotten about Eric Striker, which I had previously thought to be impossible. Won’t happen again, people. If it does, don’t hesitate to give me hell for it on Twitter.
