This evening, The Football Brainiacs reported that the charges against Oklahoma CB stemming from an incident at Logie’s (formerly Logan’s) on Campus Corner have been dismissed. Carey Murdock of Soonerscoop.com then confirmed that Thomas will NOT be suspended for the opener against Houston on Sept. 3.

Thomas was voted Preseason All-Big 12 First Team by the coaches a few weeks ago and was second on the team with five interceptions last season. With star quarterback Greg Ward returning to Houston’s potent passing attack, OU’s secondary will need all the help they can get. Needless to say, we’ll all be glad to see him take the field against the Cougars.

With Thomas firmly in the picture for 2016, the secondary should be a position of strength for OU. Zack Sanchez was the only departure from last year’s unit, and the man currently filling his shoes - Dakota Austin - has done it before.
