2016 Oklahoma Sooners Football Countdown To Kickoff | 62 Days!

On October 31, 2015 the Oklahoma Sooners dismantled the Kansas Jayhawks by a final score of 62-7. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was 27/32 for 383 yards and four touchdown passes. He also ran five times for sixteen yards. Sterling Shepard, now of the NY Giants, caught a team-high eleven passes for 183 yards and a score but Joe Mixon, Connor Knight, Durron Neal, and Sam Grant all caught touchdown passes as well (Trevor Knight accounted for the fifth TD, a 17-yard pass to brother Connor).

On the ground the Sooners ran for an average of 6.5 yards per carry and 265 yards with three more scores. Alex Ross led all rushers with 103 yards on 14 carries.

Oklahoma's defense held the Jayhawks to 35 rushing yards, on 36 carries, and just 216 total yards of offense. Kansas' lone touchdown came in the second quarter off a pass from Ryan Willis to Tyler Patrick. OU had a 35-15 advantage on first downs.
