On October 26, 2013 the #15 Oklahoma Sooners welcomed the #10 Texas Tech Red Raiders to Norman for showdown that would have both Big 12 and bowl implications. Tech was undefeated coming into the game and led Oklahoma 7-0 after the first fifteen minutes. It wouldn't last much longer though as the Sooners outscored the Red Raiders 14-0 in the second quarter to set the pace for a 38-30 victory.
Oklahoma's go ahead touchdown came on a 76-yard touchdown pass from Blake Bell to Jalen Saunders with just under four minutes left in the half. Bell ended the game with 249 passing yards and two scores while Saunders hauled in a total of six passes for 153 yards and both scores.
The Sooners' offensive attack was boosted by a ground game that gashed the Red Raider defense. Led by Damien Williams' 97 yards on 19 carries, Oklahoma ran for a total of 277 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 5.5 yards per carry.
The win helped Oklahoma finish the regular season with a 10-2 record which earned them a berth in the Sugar Bowl to face Alabama.
