2016 Oklahoma Sooners Football Countdown To Kickoff | 44 Days!

The 2015 Oklahoma Sooners football team went 11-2 on the season, winning the Big 12 Championship, and made their first ever appearance in the College Football Playoff. The conference crown was the eighth under Bob Stoops in his seventeen seasons as the head coach.

More impressively, the Sooners won their games last season by an average score of 44-22. It was the thirteenth time, under Stoops, that OU has held their opponents to an average of 22 points are less. However, the 44 points the Sooners averaged scoring in 2015 were the highest since the 2008 season (51 points per game) and the second overall highest of the Bob Stoops era.

With loads of talent returning at the quarterback, running back, and receiver positions, it isn't out of the realm of possibility to expect Oklahoma to even raise their scoring average by a few points this fall.

We can always hope, right?
