2016 Oklahoma Sooners Football Countdown To Kickoff | 54 Days!

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The date was September 15, 2007 and the Oklahoma Sooners led by Sam Bradford routed the Utah State Aggies 54-3. Bradford completed his first 11 passes on the way to being 19/26 for 255 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Sooners trio of running backs (Allen Patrick, Demarco Murray and Chris Brown) churned out 275 yards and 2 touchdowns including a 69 yard scamper gashing the Utah State defense.

Malcolm Kelly added two touchdown receptions of his own, and the Sooners offense simply overwhelmed Utah State.

To add to the Aggie pain, middle linebacker Curtis Lofton intercepted and returned a Utah State pass 45 yards for a touchdown. The 2007 Sooners football team would go on to post a 10-3 record before including victories over Miami, Texas, then Big 12 member Missouri, and 49-17 drubbing of Oklahoma State.

While the season wasn't quite up to expectations, this team set the foundation for the special run in 2008.
