On Thursday morning, cornerback Jordan Thomas of the Oklahoma Sooners was arrested due to public intoxication alongside assault and battery. Initially reported by SoonerScoop.com, the incident marks the second arrest for the budding star in the secondary during his time in Norman.
The first came in December of 2015 when Thomas failed to appear in court following a traffic citation. However, earlier in the year, the corner was forced to miss the time against the Akron Zips and Tulsa Golden Hurricane due to a violation of team rules. Looking toward Thomas as the anchor with the departure of Zack Sanchez, the kid continues to run into trouble jeopardizing the expected starting role come this fall.
While no charges have been filed as of 11:39 am according to John Shinn of the Norman Transcript, the university continues to monitor the situation. In a statement, Mike Houck mentioned that OU will, "react accordingly," to any findings.
Could P.J. Mbanasor find himself taking over for Thomas once again in the early going?
