After a lackluster performance, on the road, against UTEP to start the 2012 season the Oklahoma Sooners opened their home season with a 69-13 shellacking of Florida A&M. Landry Jones passed for 252 yards and two scores in the game but was overshadowed by the performance of Damien Williams. OU's running back averaged 15.6 yards per carry on his way to a 156 yard/4 touchdown performance.
Perhaps the biggest highlight of the night for Williams was an 89-yard touchdown in the third quarter that put the Sooners up 48-10. His 156 rushing yards set a school record for the most yards by an Oklahoma running back in their debut game in Norman. He also became the first Oklahoma football player to rush for over 100 yards in his first two games since Adrian Peterson in 2004.
Oklahoma's defense wasn't too shabby on the day either. The Sooners held Florida A&M to just 235 total yards and nine first downs.
