Possibly the most anticipated meeting of day one of the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City met a snag. As the No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners retired the No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide in the top of the second inning, the skies opened up. Increasing rains forced fans to head for cover. On the field, the ground crew rolled out the tarp while the game officially entered a weather delay at 6:26 PM.
Hoping to catch the remainder of the game followed by the No. 10 LSU Tigers and No. 2 Michigan Wolverines, numerous fans waited...and waited...and waited.
Nearly three hours later, session two was cancelled at 9:14 PM only to be rescheduled to resume at 6:00 PM on Friday.
