On Monday afternoon, the Oklahoma Sooners released their 13-game non-conference slate for the upcoming season. Continuously stepping up the level of competition, head coach Lon Kruger sites the reasoning behind the move. "We have a lot of guys stepping into new roles next season, so lining up against some great teams in the non-conference will prepare us well for Big 12 play."
For those hoping the exhibition game would be played in McCasland Fieldhouse, there may be some disappointment. This year's lone exhibition game against Washburn on November 8th will be played inside the Lloyd Noble Center. Yet, the highlight of the schedule undoubtedly remains the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic in November.
The Puerto Rico Tip-Off features a program like Xavier.
The rest of the non-conference schedule is as follows:
- November 25th vs Abilene Christian
- November 29th vs Northern Colorado
- December 3rd at Wisconsin
- December 7th vs Oral Roberts
- December 10th vs Wichita State (at Chesapeake Energy Arena)
- December 17th vs Memphis
- December 21st vs Auburn (at neutral site)
