In Oklahoma's 62-7 dismantling of the Kansas Jayhawks on Halloween last year, receiver Dede Westbrook set a career high with six receptions that tallied a total of 83 yards. While Westbrook was kept out of the end zone that day, he did record four on the season and ended with an average of 16.2 yards per reception during his first year as a Sooner.
Sticking with the theme of 83, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 383 yards in the contest and didn't even play the complete game. Mayfield found the end zone four times on the afternoon by hitting four different targets on his way to an average of 12 yards per pass attempt.
The Sooners have won eleven consecutive football games against the Jayhawks with their last loss coming on October 4th, 1997.
Random fact that a lot of people don't know about, the Sooners and Jayhawks played football against each other for the first time in 1903 but OU didn't win against their friends from the north until 1911, going 0-8 to start their series.
