Yesterday evening we had a short twitter chat talking about the Sooners recruiting for the class of 2017. Here is the Summary

Defensive Back Recruiting

@JHall_Sports: Anyone heard much about Brown's recent visit to Bama? was short but do hear OU still looking @ other DBs so he maybe looking too.

CCM: Brown should be just fine. I do think OU will keep in touch with other DBs like Kobe Boyce and Jaylon Johnson. I think they want another safety regardless of what happens

@JHall_Sports: yep, think we'd all like for Okudah to fill that spot, but still a long ways to go b4 we see how truly special this class can be.


CCM: Okudah appears to be locked into Ohio State, but Sooners won't give up. They are also pushing for Deangelo Gibbs


Wide Receiver Recruiting

@SamPhilbeck25: Top 3 Receivers OU has a good shot at to fill the void left by Lamb?

CCM:Dont see 3 options. I think its Omar Manning & maybe Joseph Lewis. But OU has a legit shot at adding Baylor 2016 commit. I do however see both Manning and Lamb (he comes back IMO) in final 2017 class.


5-Star LB Baron Browning

@Onikuno: Is Baron Browning out of the picture? I remember SS17 really pushing for him earlier in the year?

CCM: Yeah I definitely think OU is currently on the outside looking in. Lots of momentum for Ohio State


On the Total Number of Players in the Class of 2017 and Who Might De-Commit

@Boomer_4lyfe: how many do we add from now and how many (who) of the already committed do you think will flip?

CCM: I think the class will wind up w/ 24-25 total. Im not going to speculate on who will flip, but it happens at every school.



On Baylor's 2016 Class

@ageverett: What current Baylor commits (or signees) does OU end up getting?

CCM: From 2016 Brandon Bowen, Devin Duvernay, his brother Donovan, & potentially Parrish Cobb. Baylor doesn't have a 2017 class anymore


5-Star Marvin Wilson

@tneely11: what are our chances with Marvin wilson after his visit?

CCM: I would put OU in top 3 with LSU and FSU. Think it comes down to LSU and OU. But Longhorns still sorta lurking

Order of Commits Most Likely to End Up Sooners

@CPSooner580: list in order of best chance for OU to get.

CCM: Phillips, Hines, Manning, Rogers, Wilson, Browning



Oh and the next commit prediction is for OL Creed Humphrey to choose the Sooners over Texas A&M.
