Reports | Baylor Makes The Right Move And Fires Art Briles

It's unbelievable that the Baylor scandal has reached the heights that it has. It's even more unbelievable that the coaching staff thought they could cover up as much as they attempted to. Furthermore, in light of all that has transpired, its unbelievable that head football coach Art Briles will be dismissed according to reports.

If the reports are true, Baylor is absolutely making the right decision in distancing themselves from Briles. It's just that the unbelievable part is that the university hasn't really shown they have the track record of doing the right thing. Being a Christian University, surely they're familiar with Numbers 32:23, "But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the LORD; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out."

The head coach for the Bears since 2008, Briles brought the program to prominence with his spread attack and lightening quick offense. The Bears won the Big 12 outright in 2013 and tied for the championship in 2014. However, that's now been tarnished and so has the once proud reputation of Art Briles.

As shameful as the neglect and cover up has been in Waco. You have to give Baylor some credit for making such a move just a little more than three months from kickoff. However, the lingering thought that this move is way too late still can't be shaken, because it's true.
