Big 12|SEC Challenge Reunites Lon Kruger With Florida Gators

The Big XII/SEC Challenge placed two of the nation's top talents on the same floor as the Oklahoma Sooners and LSU Tigers met in Baton Rouge a year ago. Looking forward, it appears as though the Florida Gators are set to take on the Sooners in Norman during the upcoming Big XII/SEC Challenge. Although no official announcement has been made at this point in time, Jon Rothstein took to social media to break the news.

Coaching the Gators until his departure for Illinois in 1996, Lon Kruger and his former program have met just once. The meeting produced a 93-76 thrashing between Florida and Illinois in the second round of the 2000 NCAA Tournament. That Florida team went on to play in the National Championship Game before losing to Mateen Cleaves and the Michigan State Spartans.
