Rich DeCray SBN

Ole Miss pitcher Madi Osias had a rough start to her Saturday but certainly ended it on a high note and a shot at redemption. After getting pulled from Saturday's opener against Oklahoma, in just the second inning, Osias went to the dugout with the Rebels at a 6-0 deficit. Ole Miss went on to lose to the Sooners by a final count of 9-1 but Osias' day was far from done.

The senior from Tustin, California took the circle again in Saturday night's elimination game against Wichita State and produced a completely different result. She held the Shockers to just two hits over seven innings while her offense backed her up with a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth to secure a 4-0 win and extend the Rebels first ever NCAA Tournament experience at least through Sunday.

The win was the 23rd of the season for Osias which extends here school record and gives her a shot at number 24 when Ole Miss takes on Oklahoma in Sunday's regional championship. The Rebels have to beat the Sooners twice in order to advance to a super regional next weekend.
