A dual sport athlete as a freshman, outfielder and designated hitter Cody Thomas decided to focus solely on baseball during the 2016 season. The move has quite literally begun to pay off as the power hitter collected Big XII Player of the Week honors. Starting all three games of the Bedlam Series, Thomas helped Oklahoma earn their first series win against the Oklahoma State Cowboys since 2010.

During the three game stretch, the junior found himself with a .500 on-base percentage alongside a ridiculous .917 slug percent. Trailing in game one, Thomas stepped up to the plate with two on base. Not settling for a pitch, the designated hitter drove the ball over the fence helping Oklahoma take a 3-1. He would add a two RBI double later again helping the cause.
In total, Thomas collected seven RBI's over the weekend and looks to continue the momentum against Austin Peay on Thursday.
