2016 NFL Draft | Sterling Shepard a 1st Round Pick?

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

While we may be a tad bit biased, Sterling Shepard has the potential to be the a star at the next level. He has all the tools, and even though he is a bit undersized, he will in no way be limited to the slot NFL. Shepard not only produced at at very high level while in Norman, he put up some eye popping numbers at the NFL combine.

Here is a link to his NFL Combine stats.

HT: 5-10

WT: 194 lbs.

Vertical: 41"

40 Yard Dash: 4.48

When it comes to what round Shepard will be drafted in, we took to twitter to ask those who follow Crimson and Cream Machine and here is the results.

Shepard has a chance to be late first round pick in our opinion, and would immediately improve the receiving corp of numerous teams. Here are several places where we believe Shepard would be a perfect fit.

1st Round Pick Carolina Panthers (Pick 30)
- When your receivers three leading wide receivers are Ted Ginn, Jerricho Cotchery, and Devin Funchess you have a definite need at wide receiver. Assuming Kelvin Benjamin can return to form and reach his full potential, adding Sterling Shepard could begin to turn what is a definite weakness for the Panthers, into a strength.

2nd Rounk Pick Cleveland Browns (Pick 32) - While playing for the Browns is kinda like getting the NFL death penalty, they have a gaping hole at wide receiver. I wouldn't wish playing for the Browns on my worst enemy, it would make sense to snatch up a player like Shepard, to give Robert Griffin a play maker to try and help resurrect his NFL career.

2nd Round Pick Houston Texans (Pick 52) - Quick name a player that catches passes for the Texans outside of Deandre Hopkins? The Texans just broke the bank for Brock Osweiler, and what better than to give a your brand new quarterback, than Sterling Shepard. While Shepard might not last this long, if he still on the board at pick 52, the Texans could do WAY worse.

Where do you think Shepard will go in the Draft? And what team do you believe he fits with best?
