Oklahoma Sooners Football Recruiting | Breaking Down 2017 Running Back Offers

Every recruiting class has a position where it's a priority to land immediate impact players and quality depth. For 2017, that position is running back. The Sooners could be looking a scenario that would see both Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon declare for the NFL Draft after next season. While it's no guarantee that both (or either) make that decision, it wouldn't shock me in the least. With that in mind the Sooners must land multiple running backs in the class of 2017. With that in mind I have the Sooners taking 3 running backs in the class of 2017. Here are the current contenders.

COMMITS

JUCO RB/ATH Marcelias Sutton 5-10/195 from Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, PA

Sutton could also fit in at slot WR for the Sooners, but he should have ever opportunity to make an impact at running back.

OFFERS (the following list will only overview players that I believe the Sooners have at least a fighting chance for)

4-Star Anthony McFarland 5-8/185 from Hyattsville, MD

McFarland has spoken highly of the Sooners, but it will be a monumental task to pull him away from the East Coast. I also tend to believe the Sooners have other players higher on their recruiting board than McFarland.

4-Star JK Dobbins 5-10/195 from La Grange, TX (Ohio State Commit)

Dobbins was thought to be deciding between OU and Texas prior to his commitment to Ohio State. I don't believe this one is over.

4-Star Anthony Davis 5-10/200 from Lakeland, FL

This is a guy that I feel the Sooners will land. Davis has immense talent.

4-Star Trey Sermon 6-1/220 from Marietta, GA

Sermon has a great visit to OU a few weeks ago, and the Sooners recently made his top 6. He will be an incredibly difficult pull away from Georgia however, but the Sooners appear to have a legitimate chance.

3-Star Kennedy Brooks 6-0/200 from Mansfield, TX

I believe the Sooners are way out in front for Brooks and that he could easily be the Sooners next commitment.

At this point, I believe the Sooners land both Davis and Brooks and call it a class.
