Oklahoma Sooners On Pace To Break School 3-Point Shooting Record

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Oklahoma Sooners regular season officially comes to an end Saturday afternoon as they travel to Ft. Worth to take on the TCU Horned Frogs. Sporting a 23-6 record, the Sooners put their ranking on the line hoping to secure a 24th win. Here are a few storyline to keep track of during the action.

Quick Hit Storylines

  • Oklahoma's all-time record for three point shooting in season dates back to 1986-87. The percentage of shots falling from range landed at 41.4%. Currently hitting 42.8% of their attempts, this 2015-16 squad has a chance to push the bar a bit higher.
  • The Sooners have seven wins over ranked foes. As mentioned above, OU has the opportunity to secure a 24th win before the post season. Assuming that's the case, this team would equal last year's win total (24) looking to better the mark.
  • OU remains 17-2 against the Horned Frogs including a 7-1 record as the road team.
  • The starting five have 444 games of starting experience. To say this team has experience may be an understatement as those kind of numbers are literally unheard of in the college realm of basketball.
