There is no denying that the Sooners are on a roll in recruiting for the class of 2017. The momentum is pushing this class towards unprecedented heights. While I fully expect the Sooners to continue their hot streak (and even quite possibly land another commitment this weekend), there are always several players that have the potential to take a class to another level. Here are the 5 players that would undoubtedly make the class of 2017 one for the ages.

5-Star DL Marvin Wilson 6-4/320 from Houston, TX.

Wilson is beyond dominate and the kind of player that you can build an entire defensive line around. He is un-blockable at the high school level, and has starred at every camp he has attended. The Sooner were admittedly behind a bit on Wilson with the hiring of Calvin Thibodeaux, but things are apparently trending upward for the Sooners, as Wilson is seemingly set on visiting the Sooner for their Spring game. While this will still be an uphill battle, and things can change a million times between now and then, getting him on campus is a huge step in the right direction.

4-Star RB Trey Sermon 6-1/220 from Marietta, GA

Can the Sooners pull Sermon deep out of SEC country? Well things are at least looking up as Sermon will soon make his way to Norman for an unofficial visit. Also, while not earth shattering news, check out Sermon's twitter header.

Sermon would fit in almost seamlessly for a potential departure of Perine/Mixon or both.

4-Star LB Baron Browning 6-4/230 from Kennedale, TX.

If you were to draw up a prototypical prospect for outside linebacker in the 3-4, you would be hard pressed to do better than Browning. He is incredible. He can cover like a safety, but will end up playing somewhere around 250lbs. The Sooner are in the thick of things for this former Baylor commitment.

4-Star OL Grayson Reed 6-5/295 from Houston, TX

Reed will be in Norman this weekend and his ability at tackle would be a huge addition to the class of 2017. Reed will definitely be a tough pull away from the Longhorns, but this will be his his second visit to OU this spring. Pairing him with OL commit Tyrese Robinson would be an incredible for the class of 2017.

4-Star WR Omar Manning 6-3/200 from Lancaster, TX

Manning has the physical make up to be a factor from day one. He is a gifted outside wide receivers, who has offers from coast to coast. The Sooners are in a dogfight with TCU for Manning, but this is a race I believe they can win.
