As Oklahoma Basketball anxiously awaits its NCAA Tournament fate the signs seem to be that the Sooners will be a #2 seed. That's where OU needed to be to earn the short trip north to Oklahoma City for the first two rounds of the big dance. That's also exactly where everyone seems to have them as well.
SB Nation projects the Sooners as the #2 seed in the South, with a first round match up against Middle Tennessee. The second round opponents could be either Gonzaga or Pittsburgh. How much fun would it be to see Ryan Spangler go up against his former team with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.
ESPN's Joe Lunardi also has Oklahoma as a #2 seed in the South but with an opening round match against Cal-State Bakersfield. Gonzaga is a second round possibility in Lunardi's bracket as well but he has Notre Dame as the other possibility.
CBS has Oklahoma against 15th seeded Cal-State Bakersfield in the West with the winner of Gonzaga and former Big 8/Big 12 rival Colorado waiting in the wings.
The important thing for Oklahoma is that they have the #2 in front of their name when it's called. Regardless of which bracket they end up in, Oklahoma City will be their destination as a two seed.
