National Signing Day 2016 | Oklahoma Sooners: DL Chris Daniels Commits to Texas Over Oklahoma

Well this one is finally over and the Sooners have lost out on 2016 DL Chris Daniels. This one stings a little for sure, as Daniels originally picked the Sooners on his birthday with an OU cake. This was a case where the pressure to stay in state and play for the Longhorns won out over what most people thought was his parents preference of playing for the Sooners.

There is no denying that Chris Daniels recruitment was beyond strange, but in the end he will be playing for a team that Sooners hate.

It is looking more and more like the Sooners lone defensive lineman commit for the class of 2016 will be Amani Bledsoe. The impact of a lack of defensive lineman in this class is offset by what is an incredibly young group of players. While it always stings to lose a player like this, his loss won't be near as big as it would have been had depth been an issue for the Sooners.
