Lon Kruger recorded his one hundredth win as Oklahoma's head basketball coach in dramatic fashion last Saturday in Baton Rouge. There was no drama at all when it came to collecting his one hundred and first. Three days after the Sooners downed Ben Simmons and the LSU Tigers, 77-75, Kruger's crew dismantled TCU 95-72 in front of a home crowd at Lloyd Noble.
Buddy Hield paced six Sooners who scored in double figures with seventeen points. He was joined by fellow starters Ryan Spangler (11), Khadeem Lattin (10), Isaiah Cousins (13), Jordan Woodard (14), and freshman guard Christian James, who recorded a career-high 12 points.
Oklahoma took a 2-0 lead on a pair of Woodard free throws, ultimately took an 8-0 lead and then never looked back in route to a blowout win over the Frogs. The Soones shot nearly 51% from the floor (36.7% from 3-point range) and held TCU to 41% from the floor while also out-rebounding them 41-33.
The top-ranked Sooners are now 19-2, (7-2) on the season and will take back to the road this weekend with a trip to Manhattan to play Kansas State.
