After posting a 34-27 record a year ago, the Oklahoma Sooners Baseball Program is set to take the field hoping to earn a spot in Omaha. Ranked No. 21 in the Coaches Preseason Poll, Oklahoma loses eleven players to the MLB Draft. However, they'll lean on the likes of Sheldon Neuse, Jake Elliot, and Alec Hansen to set the tone. But, these aren't the only changes fans should expect to see on the field.
In addition to a new crop of names, Oklahoma will debut a new field featuring a turf playing surface. Previously, only the area just in front of the backstop featured turf while the rest remained grass. But one adornment likely trumps the rest visually as the interlocking "OU" at center field will be visible from anywhere around the stadium.
90-day turf install in just 55 seconds?!?
