The Oklahoma Sooners have earned a commitment from coveted junior college receiver Marquise Brown, who has chosen the Sooners over conference foe West Virginia. The College of the Canyons (Calif.) product is listed as the No. 13 overall prospect in the 247 Composite junior college rankings and had offers from USC, Oregon, Nebraska, TCU and Tennessee.
Brown’s commitment was first announced by 2018 wide receiver Xavier Williams via Twitter.

As I mentioned yesterday, Brown is going to be a handful for Big 12 defenses due to his route-running ability and his open-field skills. He’s a smaller guy (5-11, 170), so he’ll likely find a home in the slot. However, his speed will allow him to potentially show up on the outside, as well.
This was thought to be a three-horse race until last week when Brown decided to cancel his USC visit. The announcement of the cancellation came just days after an official visit to Norman for Bedlam, so the writing was on the wall.
I think I speak for all Sooner fans when I say that I’m pretty pumped about this addition to the class. Losing Jalen Reagor to TCU was a buzzkill, but the coaches have definitely found a worthy replacement. I think it’s safe to expect Brown to make an impact next season in Norman.
