Oklahoma Sooners Football: Week 11 Viewing Guide (Plus Gambling Picks)

The Sooners are a 17-point favorite over the Bears. Can they cover the spread (or KD Cannon) on Saturday?

NCAA Football: Oklahoma at Iowa State Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports

Good afternoon, Sooner fans! We’re less than 48 hours away from what could be an interesting one in Norman. Will OU blow out a distracted Baylor squad, or will Seth Russell take advantage of OU’s weak secondary unit? Either way, we’ll have a lot to talk about in the game thread (comments section), so make sure you make your way to this page before, during and after the game on Saturday.

What’s that, now? You feel like getting filthy rich* off of Jack’s gambling picks? Here you go!

*Results may vary

Baylor at Oklahoma (-17) - This line opened at 14.5 and has only gone up. If I had asked you to predict what this line would be two weeks ago, what would be your response? Maybe Oklahoma -3 or -4? Baylor’s football stock is sinking fast and may not recover for several years (or ever), but the offense is still dangerous. Sadly, I think we could be in for another shootout. Gambling prediction: Oklahoma wins the game but is unable to cover. Over 80.0

West Virginia at Texas (-2) - Well, this is an interesting one. The Mountaineers didn’t play well in their last road game, and Texas is actually motivated at this point. WVU does defend the run pretty well, so I’m curious to see how D’Onta Foreman does. A win for WVU sets up a potential College Gameday matchup next weekend in Morgantown. A Texas win help’s Charlie Strong’s career prospects — at Texas or otherwise. Gambling prediction: Texas covers, unfortunately. Under 64

Auburn (-10.5) at Georgia - Georgia lost to Vanderbilt at home earlier, and the Dawgs are in danger of winning no SEC home games this year if they can’t come out on top in The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. I think Auburn comes out on top this week, loses to Alabama, and plays the Sooners in the Sugar Bowl. Gambling prediction: Auburn wins the game, but Georgia keeps it close and beats the spread. Under 48.0

Texas Tech at Oklahoma State (-12.5) - Oklahoma State brings a lot of momentum into this one, and the Cowboys have won six in a row against the Red Raiders in Stillwater and seven in a row overall in the rivalry. However Patrick Mahomes is supremely talented and tends to make things complicated for defenses. Gambling prediction: OSU wins, but Tech beats the spread. Under 89.5

USC at Washington (-8.5) - This matchup is playing host to College Gameday this week, and the game is much more intriguing than it looks on paper. USC has played some great football since giving the reigns of the offense to redshirt freshman QB Sam Darnold. However, I think Washington is actually the real deal. Gambling prediction: Washington covers with a 10-point win, but it’ll be an entertaining game from start to finish. Over 62.5
