Get rich!

Oklahoma v Texas Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images

Alright, party people, it’s OU-Texas weekend! I have to point out that it’s a bit of a bummer to see how few people are making their way down to Dallas. Everyone I know and their dog are usually in Dallas for the festivities, but that doesn’t seem to be the case this year. In fact, my parents and other season ticket holders started receiving calls from the OU ticket office after the Ohio State game asking them to purchase more tickets. If you know anything about the usual demand for tickets to this game, that should shock you.

Anyway, I hope this weekend is as fun as it usually is. Outside of the OU-Texas game, there plenty of other games to watch (and gamble on) this weekend. Let’s take a look!

Oklahoma (-11.5) vs. Texas - Despite everything that’s wrong, I have OU coming out on top in this one. Watch Texas or listen to any Texas fan or pundit, and their issues are as apparent as Oklahoma’s. The secondary is in shambles, the tackling is poor, and they’re dealing with injuries — just like OU. If Malik Jefferson has his way with Mayfield, it’ll be a long day for OU. The same can be said if OU is unable to get to Buechele. If OU is able to have at least moderate success on both fronts, I’ve got the Sooners. Gambling pick: Oklahoma wins, but Texas covers. My final score prediction is 38-28. Under 73.0.

Clemson (-16) at Boston College - Clemson is coming off a huge win against Lamar Jackson and the Cardinals, and they seem primed for a spot in the playoff. However, Steve Addazio’s defense is comprised of a bunch of dudes. BC will keep this game to a low score. Gambling prediction: Clemson wins, but the Eagles cover. Under 43.0.

Tennessee at Texas A&M (-6.5) - Trevor Knight and the No. 8 Aggies will host the No. 9 Vols on Saturday, and College Station will host College Gameday. Will Tennessee win in dramatic fashion again this week? No. I think they’ll blow the doors off of A&M, actually. But you never know with Trevor Knight against SEC teams in big games. Gambling prediction: Tennessee straight up. Over 57.5.

Alabama (-14) at Arkansas - Things are gonna get wild at “The Harvard of the Hills” on Saturday. This happens every year - Arkansas hosts a big name opponent, looks primed for pulling the upset and hangs tough for a while, only to get blown out in the fourth quarter. That happens again this weekend. Gambling prediction: Bama covers late. Under 49.5.

Florida State at Miami (-3) - This is a big one for the state of Florida. If Miami comes out on top, Mark Richt has the momentum to do big things down the road this season and beyond. If Jimbo comes out on top, he continues to run the state. Gambling prediction: Miami makes a statement and covers very easily. Over 64.5.
