Oklahoma walk-on wide receiver Nick Basquine sent out a heartfelt message via Twitter on Wednesday to address things that have supposedly been said about his relationship with his father, who is a former Sooner running back.
According to Bob Przybylo of Sooners Illustrated, Basquine’s biological father is former Sooner running back Anthony Stafford, who played at OU from 1985-88.
Basquine’s letter seems to be primarily for the purpose of praising the job that his mother did in raising him and making sure that she gets all the credit she deserves. I think I speak for all of us when I say that he did a great job of it.
The redshirt sophomore from Norman North High School has made his mark with the Sooners this season, catching 12 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns, including a crucial touchdown to give OU the halftime lead in Lubbock last weekend.
