Oklahoma could be in for another “BOOM” on Wednesday, as it appears that 2017 ILB Jacob Phillips will be making his decision at 2:30 CT.
Phillips, a four-star prospect from Nashville, Tenn., is also considering Alabama and Texas A&M. Texas A&M was somewhat late to the party, but they seem to have made an impression last weekend.
Standing at 6-3 and 228 pounds, Phillips is exactly the type of inside linebacker that Oklahoma needs. Scratch that, he’s the type of linebacker that everybody needs. With that type of size and speed, all he’ll need is a bit of coaching. Tim Kish is his primary recruiter from OU, and securing a commitment tomorrow will go a long way in bringing him into the good graces of Oklahoma fans. Despite being ranked 194th in the 247 Composite rankings, he’s ranked as high as the No. 37 overall player by Rivals. Bringing him in will reinforce #SoonerSquad17’s standing as one of the elite recruiting classes in the country, which is something we’d all love to see.
