It's hard to refer to Eric Striker, Charles Tapper, and Sterling Shepard in the past tense because they have both given and meant so much to the Oklahoma football program. However, past tense is what they are as they move on from their stellar collegiate careers and on to the NFL.
Shepard has embodied what it means to be a legacy player, while both Striker and Tapper have modeled toughness, tenacity, and leadership. All three will have a legitimate shot at NFL riches and a few of their teammates will join them. On Monday The Oklahoman's Jason Kersey reported that Shepard, Striker, and Tapper, along with Devante Bond and Nila Kasitati will be invited to next month's NFL combine in Indianapolis.
They are sure to be joined by underclassmen Dominique Alexander and Zack Sanchez who will not be eligible to receive their invites until after the deadline to declare for the draft on January 18th.
