The Sooners just got a shot in the arm that should help strengthen their wide receiver core for next season graduate transfer Geno Lewis. Lewis announced his intention to transfer to OU via twitter with the following tweet.
I've decided 2 play my last year at OKLAHOMA UNIVERSITY! Want 2 thank Coach Stoops & the entire staff for this opportunity. #SoonerNation

Lewis has 17 catches for 196 yards and 3 TDs last season. While those number look a little underwhelming here is his stats from the previous year, 55 catches for 751 yards and 2 TDs. While the production noticeably fell off, there is no doubt the talent is there. Lewis is also 6-1, which would allow him to seemingly excel on the outside.
Lewis will be eligible immediately and will have one year to play for the Sooners.
Another interesting subplot is whether this will effect the number of WR's the Sooners will still take in the class of 2016. I would guess that they would still take both Velus Jones and Quartney Davis, but I could see JUCO WR Javon Wims being left out (this is just my speculation).
We will have much more on the newest Sooner soon.
