After arriving as a walk-on from Trinity Valley Community College in in Florida, Jarvis Baxter went from unknown to one of the Sooners best receivers all in a matter of months. Now the Sooners wide out will be placed on scholarship, Bob Stoops said on Tuesday.
Baxter has seven catches for 87 yards through three games this season including a touchdown against Tulsa this past weekend. He is listed as 5"11, 160-pounds but has good route running abilities and is always open when the Sooners need him.
Baxter came to Oklahoma this summer after Lincoln Riley was hired. Riley recruited Baxter when he was at East Carolina and he was also friends with Dede Westbrook, another Sooner receiver who transferred to Norman this season.
