What was seemingly a quiet recruiting weekend has just turned into something quite unexpected and could radically alter the course of the Sooners class of 2016. As the Golden Hurricane make the short drive down the Turner Turnpike to Norman, to star prospects from the Houston area will also be making their way to Norman this weekend. They are WR Tyrie Cleveland 6-3/190 and DL Ed Oliver 6-2/270.
Cleveland and Oliver are teammates who star for Westfield High School in Houston, TX. Here is a further breakdown of each player
4* WR Tyrie Cleveland 6-3/190
Cleveland talent on the football field is immediately noticed and he has an offer list to back it up. Bama, ASU, Ark, Baylor, Florida, Houston. LSU, TCU, Texas A&M, and the Sooners are just a few of the schools that have offered Cleveland. I am not quite ready to predict Cleveland ends up a Sooner for the class of 2016, but the Sooners are definitely trending in the right direction. A great visit this weekend could put the Sooners in the drivers seat. Cleveland is also pretty high on TCU and Texas A&M

4* DL Ed Oliver 6-2/270
Oliver is currently committed to Houston, but that commitment status seems to slowly becoming shakier and shakier. Oliver is an absolute force on the defensive line, causing havoc and disruption nearly every series. He reminds me of Charles Walker. While I do believe he remains a part of the Houston class of 2016, there is some momentum moving in the Sooners direction.

An interesting note about Oliver is that the Sooners were his first offer.
