Yesterday we looked at five defensive players that would make the class of 2016 elite. While the Sooners already have a great start in QB Austin Kendall, additional firepower is needed to help solidify this class as elite. Here are 5 prospects that would really push this class over the top.

1. 4* RB Devwah Whaley 6-0/205 from Beaumont, TX.

Whaley offer lists reflects a player that has immense talent. Not many people can say they had offers from Bama, ASU, Baylor, Ark, Georgia, Ole Miss, Miss St., Mizzou, Notre Dame, Ohio St., TCU, Nebraska, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, and the Sooners. The Sooners will be fighting Texas A&M for Whaley and by many accounts will win.

2. 4* OL JohnCarlo Valentin 6-4/340 from Philadelphia, PA

The Sooners recently burst onto the scene with Valentin who tweeted out today that he intends to visit the Sooners

Valentin is a big road grader interior offensive lineman that could take this class from good to great.

3. 4* Camron Williams 6-3/200 from Dallas, TX.

Williams has been pretty quiet throughout the recruiting process, but most believe the Sooners are in the driver's seat. Williams recently listed his top 7 which included the Sooners

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I want to thank every school that has has given me an offer , this list is in no particular order &#10;<a href="https://twitter.com/BrandonTFB">@BrandonTFB</a> <a href="http://t.co/s1moAnVBYG">pic.twitter.com/s1moAnVBYG</a></p>&mdash; Camron Williams (@The_CamWilliams) <a href="https://twitter.com/The_CamWilliams/status/629748557214543877">August 7, 2015</a></blockquote>

4. 3* OL Kellen Diesch 6-7/270 from Trophy Club, TX.

Diesch is currently an Arkansas commit, but that hasn't stopped the Sooners from continuing to pursue Diesch. Diesch was seemingly all but set on the Sooners before the Hogs made a huge move. If there was ever a candidate to flip to the Sooners, it would be Diesch.

5. 3* JUCO OL Ashton Julious 6-8/330 from Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, PA.

Julious is a mammoth of a man, and after the issues with Kenyon Frison, the Sooners could use an infusion of talent along the OL. Julious would seem to fit that bill. The Sooners appear by all accounts are out in front for Julious..

__________

Honorable Mention

3* OL Tramonda Moore 6-5/330 from Oklahoma City, OK

If Tramonda was a lock to qualify, he would jump up into the top 5. It's not every year the Sooners have a player in their own backyard with offers from Alabama, ASU, Georgia, OKState, and TCU. Moore could obviously rise if the unknowns about his grade issues are erased.
