Oklahoma has had a long tradition of great running backs, and after Demarco Murray's departure in 2010 there was some speculation that Oklahoma may take a step back running the football. Then came Brennan Clay, Roy Finch, Damien Willams, and Dominique Whaley who all contributed to running the football for Oklahoma over the following couple of seasons. Clay ended up having the best career at Oklahoma and a had a breakout senior season in 2013.

He rushed for six touchdowns in 2012 and did it again in 2013. He also rushed for over 1900 yards in his college career with 5 yards per carry in his career. The San Diego native is most famous for his game-winning run against Oklahoma State in 2012 to win the game in overtime, 48-51.

Clay never got the amount of carries he probably wanted to, but his contributions when he did run the ball were very important to the Sooner's success in 2012 and 2013.
