Oklahoma Sooners | Ty Darlington Added To Rimington Trophy Watch List

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Ty Darlington first appeared as the starting center for the Oklahoma Sooners replacing an injured Gabe Ikard against the Baylor Bears three years ago. By 2014, the offensive lineman earned starts in all 13 games along with All-Conference First Team honors. Others have taken notice of the progess Darlington continues to make landing him on the Rimington Trophy Watch List just before the upcoming season.

The Rimington Trophy is given out to the nation's top center on an annual basis. Assuming Darlington comes home with the Trophy at the end of the year, the occasion would mark the first time a Sooner completed the feat.

Six total Big XII Offensive Linemen made the Rimington Trophy Watch List named after Nebraska's former center, Dave Rimington. Here are the representatives from the conference.

Texas | Taylor Doyle
Baylor | Kyle Fuller
TCU | Joey Hunt
Texas Tech | Jared Kaster
West Virginia | Tyler Orlosky
Oklahoma Sooners | Ty Darlington
