2015 Oklahoma Sooners Football Countdown To Kickoff | 41 Days!

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

As we edge closer to Oklahoma's September 5th season opener against Akron day 41 reminds us of the 2013 game at Kansas State. The Wildcats were unranked at the time of the game but that didn't stop them from putting up three touchdowns on OU in the second quarter to draw within 24-21 at the half.

A balanced third quarter had the Sooners leading 27-24 heading into the final 15 minutes of the game but a 3 yard touchdown run by Brennan Clay and a 74 yard pick six by Zack Sanchez sealed the deal for a 41-31 Oklahoma victory.

The Sooners beat Oklahoma State 33-24, in Stillwater, two weeks later to finish the season with a 10-2 record and set up a Sugar Bowl date with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Clay scored twice in the game and averaged 6.5 yards per carry on his way to a 200 yard performance. Sanchez had 4 tackles to go along with his pick-six.
