We vowed to not mention it again, but with 45 days till Akron, we have to take a look back on the monumental beat down of the Crimson Tide as the Sooners rolled up 45 points en route to what we all assumed would be a program defining win.
Trevor Knight was Peyton Manning like, completing over 78% percent of his passes to go along with 4 touchdown passes. Coming into the game Knight had only completed 47 total passes on the season. He torched the Crimson Tide secondary for 348 yards and completed passes to 9 different wide receivers.
The Sooner defense forced 5 turnovers, the last of which was this amazing play by Eric Striker and Geneo Grissom which sealed the Crimson Tide's fate in New Orleans.
While the football program obviously hasn't gone in the direction we expected, the Sooners have an opportunity to right the ship as the Zips will find themselves in Norman in just 45 days.
