There was a lot on the line when Texas Tech came to Norman on November 22, 2008. The Red Raiders were a perfect 10-0 on the season and ranked #2 in the nation. Meanwhile the Sooners were 9-1 with a #5 ranking. A win over Tech would put OU back in the conference title hunt and more importantly back in the thick of the BCS championship mix.

The Sooners won a lopsided 65-21 game over Texas Tech that night as the nationally televised audience was treated to the DeMarco Murray show. Oklahoma's running back averaged 6.9 yards per carry in route to a 125 yard/2 touchdown night on the ground. He also added another 71 receiving yards to the box score. Quarterback Sam Bradford was outstanding as well. OU's eventual Heisman winner completed 14-of-19 passes for 304 yards and threw four touchdown strikes.

The Sooners went on to beat Oklahoma State the next week and then downed Missouri in the Big 12 championship game before falling to Florida in a contest for the BCS title.
