When class of 2015 Sooner signee Dalton Wood was reported to be heading to Norman just a couple of days ago, the Sooners were ecstatic that the 3-star fullback from McAlestar, Oklahoma would be able to join the team in time for summer after originally not knowing whether or not he was going to join by this fall. It was good news to hear that Wood was on his way to Norman this past Wednesday.
But then SoonerScoop reported this morning that Dalton Wood had left the team in the middle of the night. His former head coach from McAlestar, Bryan Pratt, said that " I got a call this morning from coach Gundy that he had left in the middle of the night,” and then followed up and said that he wasn't sure what was going on with Wood.
It's unknown if Wood will return to Norman or not, as some sort of explanation for this should come out soon from either Wood or the coaches. This probably will not be the last we hear about this strange string of events that have been happening this week for Dalton Wood, who was expected to play either as a fullback or tight end and perhaps contribute to the team immediately.
