2015 Oklahoma Sooners Football Countdown To Kickoff | 68 Days!

On September 14, 2002 the second ranked Oklahoma Sooners destroyed the UTEP Miners by a final score of 68-0 to improve to 3-0 on the season. Quarterback Nate Hybl completed 13 of 22 passes for 278 yards and two scores. Antwone Savage led all receivers with 93 yards and a score on just four receptions and Mark Clayton added 78 more yards on three receptions.

On the ground Quentin Griffin scored twice en route to a 111 yards on 16 carries. Kejuan Jones averaged 6.6 yards per carry in his 75 yard performance.

Defensively the Sooners held UTEP to just 219 yards on 73 total offensive plays. While OU was averaging 7.7 yards per play the Miners were averaging 3.3. UTEP lost two fumbles on the day and were intercepted three times.
