If you're not spending money on tickets then you're going to need to spend it on a pay-per-view broadcast if you're wanting to see the 2015 season opener for Oklahoma football. The athletic department announced on Monday that, while a kickoff time as yet to be determined, the Sooners home game on September 5th against Akron will in fact be available on pay-per-view.
In addition, Oklahoma announced that their September 19th game against Tulsa will air on FoxSports1 and is set for an 11:00 am kickoff.
The Sooners have never played Akron in football. The Zips were 3-5 in MAC play last season and finished with an overall record of 5-7. The Sooners are 19-7-1 overall against Tulsa and are coming off a 52-7 win at TU in 2014. A trip to Knoxville is sandwiched between the two games as the Sooners will complete the non-conference portion of their schedule with the Tennessee Volunteers.
