The Oklahoma Sooners are now 86 days away from kicking off against the Akron Zips in front of 82,112 screaming fans who have descended upon Norman, Oklahoma. As we continue the countdown to kickoff, I bring you a record setting quarterback who became somewhat of an enigma during his collegiate career.
With Landry Jones, fans either loved his style of play or hated it...there was no middle ground. The greatest manifestation of the two could be found during the 2010 Bedlam Match-Up.
During four quarters of play, Jones threw a career high 86-yard touchdown pass on 3rd and long to Cameron Kenney setting up one of the most memorable finishes in the series. On the ensuing kickoff, Justin Gilbert answered by returning the kick for a touchdown. However, Jones once again came up big with a 76-yard pass, this time to TE James Hanna. The quarterback finished with 468 yards on 37 completions to 62 attempts, all career highs.
The flip side of the coin is that Jones also threw three interceptions, a number that ranks second on his career.
