OU Softball | Paige Parker Throws Fourth Perfect Game Of Season

Rich DeCray

Will Oklahoma softball ever run out of top of the line talent? It doesn't look like it will for another three years, as freshman Paige Parker pitched her fourth perfect game of the season, tying an NCAA single season record. Parker did so while striking out 12 of 15 batters in the process, as the game ended in just five innings against Utah Valley. The Sooners ended up winning it 14-0 and sweeping the two game series against Utah.

Parker ties Kyla Hall (Louisiana Lafayette) and Audrey West (Boston) as the only other players to pitch four perfect games in one season. She's also the first person to do so since 1994, over 20 years ago.

How difficult is it to have four in just one season? Well on Sunday she became just the 16th player to have four perfect games in a career. The season's not over just yet either, as Parker still has two more games to go before postseason begins.

It looks like Patty Gasso's 2015 team is a historic one. With the NCAA career home run record holder and now the pitcher who tied the record for most perfect games in a season. With superstars on the batting and fielding, it looks like the fourth ranked Sooners have a chance to make it far in the WCWS this season.

Oklahoma plays OSU in Norman this Saturday at 2:00 and Sunday in Stillwater at 12:00 . Oklahoma is currently riding on a five game winning streak and have won nine of their last 10 games.
