On Thursday afternoon, the Oklahoma Sooners completed their non-conference portion of the 2017 season schedule by adding the Tulane Green Wave. The first ever meeting between the two programs is set to take place in Norman, Oklahoma, slotted for September 16th, 2017.

"We are excited to begin the series with the University of Oklahoma. There were a lot of moving pieces required to put this together and I thank my good friend (Oklahoma Director of Athletics) Joe Castiglione for working with us to ensure Oklahoma would come back to Yulman Stadium as soon as scheduling would allow," - Tulane Director of Athletics, Rick Dickson (tulanegreenwave)

The Sooners will then travel to the Crescent City (New Orleans) during the 2021 season hoping to root themselves in the recruiting scene of Louisiana. Oklahoma currently boasts four players from the Pelican State, three of which hail from New Orleans, the location of the Sugar Bowl where the Big 12 Champion (if one true champion can be decided) will play.

"Tulane's program is in the midst of a resurgence, between the move to a new conference and the opening of the new on-campus stadium. We also have an opportunity to play in an area of Louisiana where we recruit and where a large number of OU graduates reside" - Oklahoma Director of Athletics, Joe Castiglione (soonersports)

Finally, the three game agreement will conclude in Norman during 2024 season.
