As the NFL Draft rolls on, so does the list of players from the University of Oklahoma that are hearing their names called. Offensive tackle Daryl Williams was the third player selected on Saturday as the fourth round of the draft opened up. The Panthers traded up to take the two-time All Big 12 player as the 102nd overall pick of this year's draft.
Possessing a massive frame (6-6/329) Williams can be a bull rusher on running plays and can get into a defender on pass blocking very well. He's quick off the ball and slides to pass protect very well. He best assets are his size and strength and he absolutely knows how to use them.
As a four-year starter at OU, Williams has experience to immediately compete for a starting position along Carolina's offensive line but he will need to improve on his foot speed to compete with the quick rushers of the NFL. One option though may be to move him inside but it would mean a transition to a position that he's never played before.
Williams was the first offensive lineman selected by the Panthers in this year's draft. Carolina was 7-8-1 in 2014.
