It's really hard to not be overly excited about this commitment. Austin Kendall 6-2/210 has verbally committed to the Sooners. Kendall who was previously committed to Tennessee backed off his commitment earlier this spring and immediately visited Kentucky and the Sooners. He was reportedly down to Auburn and the Sooners before finally deciding to commit to OU.

Kendall is the number 27 overall player in the class of 2016 according to Rivals.com.
One of the side benefits of elite quarterback commitments is that it helps to solidify the class as elite players want to play with other elite players. This bodes well for the Sooners as they head into their spring game this weekend. I wouldn't be shocked to see several players follow Kendall's lead and commit to the Sooners.
If you are wondering what type of player the Sooners are getting in Kendall, check out his film below.
