The Sooners are expected to take at most 3 defensive lineman in the class of 2016, as the only player who will exhaust his eligibility after the 2015 season will be Charles Tapper. Couple that with a new DL coach in Diron Reynolds, abd you get what has been a really quiet spring for recruiting along the defensive line.
That is slowing starting to change as the Sooners have sent out two offers to in the past few days to two prospects from Wichita, KS and Duncanville, TX.
Marcel has seen his recruitment take off as he has recently picked up offers from TTech, Illinois, North Texas, Baylor, and the Sooners.
Southall's size makes him versatile enough to play outside in a 3-4 or with added weight slide inside in a 4-3. Southall has made no mention of a Sooner visit as of yet, but I'm guessing he will show up in Norman soon.
Blessed to receive my 26th offer from the university of Oklahoma! pic.twitter.com/F1gB6Sydvm— xavier kelly (@xavierkelly22) April 26, 2015
The Sooners got in a little late for Kelly who holds offers from across the country. This doesn't mean the Sooners are out of the race for Kelly, but they will have to battle the likes of Bama, Oregon, FSU, and LSU for his signature.
