For the third time this season, INF/OF Kolbey Carpenter was announced as the Big XII Player of the Week for his efforts on the diamond. The junior became the first Oklahoma Sooner and the third conference player to complete the feat in a single season joining Robby Price and Blake Stouffer.

Throughout the duration of the week, Carpenter helped Oklahoma secure a second consecutive conference series win on the road, this time over the West Virginia Mountaineers. Batting an impressive .421, the reigning player of the week saw action at three different positions including two appearances at second base, another in left field followed by yet another at first.

Now, through ten weeks of play, a Sooner has laid claim to the honor five different times. OU put up a 2-2 record falling to Dallas Baptist in a mid-week matchup hosted in Norman before downing the 'Eers in Morgantown. Up next, the Carpenter and the rest of the ballclub prepare to step out of conference for a five game stretch at home.
